Iwakuni, Japan – July 2025 – S&K Federal Services, LLC provided critical aviation maintenance and logistics support to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) during Exercise Talisman Sabre 25, the largest joint U.S.-Australia military exercise in the Indo-Pacific.

At MCAS Iwakuni, the S&K team surged operations to support the deployment of Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA-242) aboard the USS America (LHA 6). The squadron’s F-35B Lightning II aircraft brought 5th-generation multi-domain strike capabilities to joint forces operating in the Coral Sea.

Simultaneously, the S&K team at MCAS Futenma in Okinawa completed aircraft inspections in accordance with the Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry (DAFF) theater entry requirements. These inspections enabled the rapid deployment of Marine Aircraft Logistics Squadron (MALS-36) MV-22 Osprey, CH-53E Super Stallion,

AH-1Z Viper, and UH-1Z Venom aircraft in support of 31st MEU operations.

“Supporting Talisman Sabre from the Japan theater underscores the critical role of forward-based aviation support. Our Iwakuni and Okinawa teams rose to the occasion, keeping Marine aircraft mission-ready with unwavering professionalism,” said Will Carroll, President of S&K Federal Services.
