S&K Aerospace named SBA’s 2018 Regional & Montana 8(a) Graduate of the Year

St. Ignatius, Mont. — S&K Aerospace, LLC (SKA) was named the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) 2018 Regional & Montana 8(a) Graduate of the year.  SKA President Anthony Amadeo & S&K Technologies, Inc. (SKT) CEO Chad Cottet received the awards at the annual Montana SBA awards held May 3rd, 2018 at the Camelot Ranch in Billings Montana. The event was hosted by Montana Small Business Administration, & Big Sky Economic Development Corporation. The Montana SBA awards celebration highlighted 11 categories to recognize Montana’s top small businesses, entrepreneurs, small business advocates, and champions.

SKA is a subsidiary of SKT, wholly owned by the Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes. The 8(a) Business Development Program is a business assistance program for small disadvantaged businesses. The 8(a) Program offers a broad scope of assistance to firms that are owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. It offers access to government contracts and participation in the program is divided into two phases over nine years: a four-year developmental stage and a five-year transition stage.

Established in 2005, S&K Aerospace provides comprehensive project support and quality services including end-to-end materials management for U.S. Government agencies and U.S. foreign allies. S&K Aerospace’s mission is to build and sustain a strong and profitable business that contributes to the progress and well-being of the CSKT community while providing value-added services to our customers. The company embodies CSKT’s vision of blending the wisdom and values of the past with the capability and technology of the future.

Small Business week began in 1963, to celebrate and recognize outstanding small business owners for their personal successes and contributions to our nation. SBA’s Small business week highlights the impact that small businesses have on our economies. S&K Aerospace entered into the 8(a) program in May 2005 and Graduated from the program in May 2015. S&K Aerospace was nominated for the award by S&K Technologies CEO Chad Cottet. An eligible recipient of this award must be graduated from the 8(a) program and be in operation 2 years after graduation.
