The Positive Impact on Our Reservation Community

The Flathead Reservation is a remarkable place, steeped in rich cultural heritage and natural beauty. 

Home to the Salish (Se̓liš), Kootenai (Ksanka), and Kalispel (Qĺispe̓), the Reservation spans over 1.3 million acres in northwestern Montana, featuring a breathtaking landscape of pristine lakes, rivers, valleys, and mountains. Beyond its natural beauty, this area is a vibrant economic hub, characterized by a rich diversity of backgrounds and industries.

Leadership at S&K

Chief Executive Officer

A proud member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, Chad Cottet has served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of S&K Technologies, Inc. since January 2018.

As CEO, Mr. Cottet provides vision, guidance, and leadership to the entire S&K enterprise. He oversees all the corporation’s business operations and resources and works closely with the Board of Directors on policy, new company creation, and overall vision of the corporation. He is responsible for establishing and implementing the strategic direction of the company, as well as overall financial performance.

Mr. Cottet has served on several boards, including the Montana Economic Development Advisory Council and is a former board member of S&K Technologies, Inc., including serving seven years as Chairman. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Management.

Prior to joining S&K, Mr. Cottet worked at DRS Technologies for 16 years, finishing as Director of Operations. During his tenure there he served in multiple leadership roles acquiring critical expertise in business development, contract negotiation, customer support, and strategic planning.

Jean Matt

Chairman

A member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, Jean Matt brings decades of experience in business management, tribal governance, and leadership. He has served as CSKT Forest Development Program Manager, General Manager of Mission Valley Power, and now as a consultant for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Jean joined the S&K Technologies Board in 2018.

Pete White

Vice Chairman

A fourth-generation rancher and seasoned Tribal business leader, Pete White serves as National Director for the Intertribal Agriculture Council’s Land, Capital, and Market Access Program. He brings expertise in Native agriculture, finance, and economic development, emphasizing long-term growth and opportunities for future generations.

Jeff Hassannia

Secretary/Treasurer

With more than 35 years in aerospace and defense, Jeff Hassannia offers deep expertise in acquisition, engineering, and strategy. A U.S. Air Force Academy graduate, he leads his own advisory firm and provides valuable insight into national defense trends and strategic growth.

Margaret “Binky” Bowman

Member

A CSKT member and former General Manager of the Critical Mission Support Services Business Unit, Binky Bowman brings extensive experience in business, community leadership, and enterprise management. She joined the S&K Technologies Board after retiring in 2024, continuing her commitment to service and strategic insight.

Kevin Howlett

Member

Kevin Howlett has dedicated over 40 years to the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, leading both the Education and Health Departments. Now serving his third term on the Board, he continues to apply his experience to support future enterprise initiatives and Tribal leadership.
