SKT-Dayton offers its customers on-site inspection of structure in addition to laboratory inspections of parts. Our staff includes a range of NDI technicians including an ASNT certified Level III NDI inspector for ultrasonic testing (UT) and eddy current testing (ET). Equipment for eddy current inspection, ultrasonic inspection and aided visual inspection is available at the SKT-Dayton laboratory facilities. Portable NDI units include a Nortec® 2000D+ Eddy Current Flaw Inspector, particularly used for crack detection in bolted aircraft structures, as well as two portable automated scanning systems (SAIC UltraSpect-MP and Boeing MAUS IV) enabling both ultrasonic and eddy current scanning of large inspection areas. The laboratory facilities also include a SONIX C-scan system for immersion-type high-resolution ultrasonic inspection of inspection articles up to 5 feet long. Our NDI engineers have extensive experience with aircraft structures and strong backgrounds in materials engineering. They contributed to the development of quantitative corrosion inspection techniques including optimization of the inspection approach and improvement in inspection data processing and analysis.
